Body Found by Missing Chicago Woman’s Vehicle

TRAGIC!!! TRAGIC!!! I'm speechless. Just tragic.

The badly decomposed body of a woman was found early this morning in an area of Calumet City where police have been searching for Nailah Franklin, a Chicago woman missing for about a week.Patrol officers found an unclothed body behind several vacant businesses at River Oaks Drive and Gold Coast Lane, near the Wentworth Woods Forest Preserve. Dozens of investigators with Calumet City police, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner's office were on the scene this afternoon.Franklin's sisters said the body has not been confirmed to be that of the missing woman, according to a family friend. The family, including Franklin's five sisters and a brother, have been working directly with detectives, the friend said.

A relative who has told some media outlets that the body is hers does not speak for the family, the friend said.Calumet City Police Chief Russell Larson said at the scene that the condition of the body has prevented police from making a positive identification. He said that they had determined the victim is a woman, but that the body is decomposed to the point that it's impossible to determine race or any other factors."At no time has anyone identified this body," Larson said. "No one has an idea who it might be."The Cook County medical examiner's office said they will perform an autopsy on the body tomorrow, and Chicago police have said dental records will needed to make a positive identification.Larson said two officers were on patrol around 5 a.m. when they noticed something unusual in the parking lot.

They decided to check out the area and discovered the body in a densely wooded area behind a shuttered business.He would not say what it was that piqued the officers' interest but said, "They paid attention to a very minute detail that most people would have walked past."Rocco Santana, a salesman at the River Oaks Ford dealership across the street from the scene, said he saw a black car parked in the parking lot on Friday night. The vehicle was there for about 20 minutes then left eastbound on 159th Street, he said."It came in quick and left quick," Santana said.Authorities have been searching the Calumet City area over the last several days for Franklin, 28, who was reported missing Sept. 19 after failing to show up for a business meeting. Her car was found abandoned in Hammond on Saturday.Franklin, a pharmaceuticals representative who lived near the University of Illinois at Chicago campus, had filed a police report about threatening phone calls she received from a man she dated briefly. Since her disappearance, family members have been papering the city with fliers. Her family also offered a $10,000 reward for information on her whereabouts and set up a Web site aimed at generating leads.Franklin was last heard from Sept. 18, when she called her boyfriend in Milwaukee. Three vague text messages from her phone later that night indicated she was having dinner and would call her family and boss back. They didn't hear from her again.Franklin works for Eli Lilly & Co. She is a graduate of Homewood-Flossmoor High School and has a bachelor's degree in advertising from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Nevada Authorities Search for Girl, Man in Explicit Sex Tape

LAS VEGAS — Authorities in Nevada were trying Tuesday to find a girl believed to be 4 or 5 years old and a man seen performing explicit sexual acts on her in an amateur videotape that detectives were told was found in the desert.
"The problem is the unknowns," said Nye County sheriff's Detective David Boruchowitz, who said he hoped widespread national attention would identify the girl and the man.

"We have no idea where he's from, where she's from, and no idea who they are or where they are," Boruchowitz said in a telephone interview from the sheriff's office in Pahrump, 60 miles west of Las Vegas.
The tape, a little longer than 30 minutes, clearly shows the adult man performing criminal sexual acts that Boruchowitz said included rape, "everything else, and then some."
A 26-year-old Pahrump man, Darren Tuck, surrendered the tape to Nye County sheriff's investigators Sept. 8, after another man reported seeing it, Boruchowitz said.
Tuck told detectives he found the videotape in the desert outside Pahrump more than five months ago, although Boruchowitz said the tape didn't appear to have been exposed to weather or elements.
Boruchowitz said investigators don't think Tuck made the tape. Tuck was arrested Sept. 19 on charges of promoting child pornography and possession of child pornography, felonies. The top charge carries a possible sentence of up to life in prison.

Tuck was released without bail, pending arraignment Nov. 26 in Pahrump Justice Court, a court official said.
His lawyer did not immediately respond Tuesday to messages seeking comment.
"Our concern is if little girl is still in that situation," Boruchowitz said. "Our concern is to get her out of the nightmare that she's been living in."

Stuntman dies on the set of new Batman movie

A special effects technician on the new Batman movie has been killed after a 4x4 truck hit a tree.The man died when the vehicle, which was carrying a camera platform, crashed on a test run while following a stunt vehicle, which is thought to have been the Batmobile.Emergency services were called to Longcross, near Chertsey in Surrey, but the man was pronounced dead.Batman: The Dark Knight, made by Warner Bros Pictures, is set for release in the UK next summer.Christian Bale plays superhero Batman - aka Bruce Wayne - with Michael Caine as his butler Alfred. Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman are also due to star.

A Warner Bros spokeswoman said no actors were involved, and the accident did not happen on set or while filming was taking place.She said: "Warner Bros Pictures and the entire cast and crew of The Dark Knight are deeply saddened by this tragedy and their hearts and prayers go out to the family and loved ones of the deceased."Police and the Health & Safety Executive have launched a joint investigation.

A HSE spokesman confirmed two vehicles had been involved in a "filming production exercise" when the crash happened.He said: "It appears one vehicle was undertaking some stunt driving and another 4x4 provided the camera platform to film it.

"The second vehicle and a camera operator were involved in a collision with a tree."

Fashion company's shock tactics in the fight against size zero

This is the latest shock image to jolt the fashion industry into action over the problem of anorexia.
The picture of emaciated Isabelle Caro, 27, an anorexic who weighs just 31 kilos (4 stone, 12lb), has been displayed on Milan billboards as the city celebrates its fashion week.
Caro, who is French and has her own blog site, said that she had suffered from anorexia since she was 13 as the result of a "difficult childhood".

She added: "I've hidden myself and covered myself for too long. Now I want to show myself fearlessly, even though I know my body arouses repugnance.
"I want to recover because I love life and the riches of the universe. I want to show young people how dangerous this illness is."

The campaign was paid for by Italian clothing company Flash & Partners to publicise a fashion brand for young women called Nolita and the photograph was taken by Italian photographer Oliviero Toscani.
Flash & Partners said in a statement that Toscani's aim was "to use the naked body to show everyone the reality of this illness, caused in most cases by the stereotypes imposed by the world of fashion".
Many people blame the fashion industry and the obsession with stick-thin size zero models for the rise in cases of anorexia.

Calls for action within the British fashion industry led to a full-scale investigation into the problems by a panel of experts this year.
The report by the Model Health Inquiry, which was published last week on the eve of London Fashion Week, made 14 recommendations including requiring models to pass medical checks before being allowed on the catwalk and barring appearances from those under 16.
Unveiling the report, chairman of the inquiry, Baroness Kingsmill, slammed the fashion world for allowing young girls to be exploited. "Just because modelling is seen as glamorous, [the industry] seems to think it is outside normal health and safety issues," she said. "It is time it started taking care of its workers."
But London has failed to go as far as Madrid and Milan, where the authorities have banned the appearance of ultra-skinny models on catwalks by forcing models to carry certificates proving they are healthy.
The move, which dominated Milan Fashion Week last year, followed the death of 22-year-old model Luisel Ramos, who collapsed at a show in Uruguay. It was claimed she had gone days without eating properly.
Speaking at the time, Tiziana Maiolo, Milan's city council official in charge of promoting fashion, said: "We will work together with modelling agencies, with the chamber of commerce for fashion and with doctors to ensure that the agencies and stylists do not favour this phenomenon of anorexia.
"I don't think men want to see skeletal women and I want to say to women who are fuller- figured there is absolutely nothing wrong with this. They are undoubtedly the prettiest women about and the most intelligent."
Despite this, fashion designers in Milan dismissed fashion as having anything to do with the illness. Commenting on the poster Giorgio Armani said he thought such a shocking image was 'opportune' as a way of making people face up to the dangers of anorexia, which he said had little to do with models on catwalks.
He added: "Anorexia has reasons which are not linked to fashion. Even people who take no notice of fashion get anorexic."
Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana said: "Finally someone is saying the truth about anorexia that it has nothing to do with fashion but is a psychiatric problem.
"We have always maintained this despite all the political campaigns on the argument."
However, Italy's health minister Livia Turco backed the campaign and said: "The disturbing image of Isabelle Caro could open an original channel for communication and encourage people to shoulder their responsibilities in the area of anorexia."

IT'S BEEN FOREVER!!!

It's been forever since I have been on here! So much has happened with-in the last few months. I had my daughter on August the 13th, she weighed in at 7 lbs and 1 oz. Having 4 children can be a handfull! So now that I'm back I will most def. be posting more often. Hopefully y'all didn't forget me! I'M BACK BITCHES!!!
